What is the HSC Big Event?

The OUHSC Big Event strives to unify all seven health professional college through applied learning in service to the OUHSC campus. 

About the HSC Big Event

Each spring, students from each of the OUHSC’s seven health professional colleges volunteer in the greater Oklahoma City area in an effort to show their appreciation and build relationships with the surrounding community.   The event is a student-led service project, allowing for students to truly impact the lives of many. 

The goal is to maximize applied learning in service to the HSC community.  HSC students volunteers in the community to help organizations with health-related tasks like screenings, health eduction, and sharing time and knowledge. HSC students, faculty, and staff are excited about putting their skills to use and invite you to join in our enthusiasm.

How do I get involved?

All HSC students, staff, and faculty are invited to volunteer for the HSC Big Event.  Simply register to volunteer as an individual or a group at the followiing link:

In addition, each spring there is an open call for students interested in serving on the executive committee to help organize the event.  The executive committee works with each community site to determine the needs of the site and logistics of the day.  If you are interested in joining the HSC Big Event Executive Committee, look for the announcment in the HSC Daily News each January or email bigevent@ouhsc.edu.
