WHY SGA?

SGA has afforded me to opportunity to interact with current and potential students regarding campus life on the OUHSC campus. SGA has allowed me to enhance my presentation skills through communication with student leaders across campus as well as senior administrators. I, also, have cultivated relationships and mentorships with many members of OUHSC faculty and staff. Through SGA, I have seen the difference in a collective voice and truly treasure the ability to represent students on our great campus

WHY SGA?

After being involved in several student groups in the Graduate College, I wanted to be a
part of a more diverse, campus wide group that encompasses all the colleges. By doing
this, I hope to meet new people from different professions and get a good feel for what
makes this campus tick and what students from all professions need from the university.
It’s a great opportunity to hear different perspectives and be a difference-maker within
the OUHSC community.

Spend at least a month backpacking abroad after finishing my PhD and master all of the cool yoga poses possible!

All my life, I’ve wanted to be a leader, but in previous years I was never confident enough to take on that responsibility. Something would always hold me back. Then one day I decided that I was not going to let fear hold me back anymore. I pulled a very bold move my running for president, and I have never felt more pleased with that decision. Now, I feel more confident to take on leadership roles to represent my school as a voice to
be heard.

I chose to be a part of SGA, so that I could impact not only the students within my college, but also the students on the entire campus. Whether that be acquiring credit card swipes for vending machines or planning campus wide volunteering events, SGA does a lot for the student population and I want to be a part of that change.

SGA has provided me with so many leadership opportunities and experiences that I wouldn’t have received anywhere else. It enabled me to make change across campus and to reach out to others outside my college.

Not 100% sure…I know I’ll be a pharmacist! Eventually, I’d like to do something leadership-related, maybe work in hospital administration.

1. Befriend Justin Timberlake.
2. Bum out on the Amalfi Coast in Italy, then travel the world.

Anything music related – listening to it, making music myself, etc. It’s my special retreat that’s always there for me and never fails to comfort me.

I know that early on in my career as a student on the OUHSC campus, that I appreciated the many things that SGA had provided me and I wanted to be a part of that to pay it forward for future students.
