Trademarks and Licensing

Student organizations seeking to use University of Oklahoma names, logos, trademarks, or branded artwork must receive approval before producing or purchasing promotional items.

Submit a Trademark & Licensing Request

Before you Begin

To be eligible to use OU trademarks:

Your organization must be a currently registered student organization.
You must work with a licensed vendor when producing branded merchandise.
You must have a proposed design or artwork proof ready for review.

How the Process Works

Step 1: Create Your Design
Work with a licensed vendor to develop your artwork or promotional item design.
Step 2: Submit Your Request
Complete the Trademark & Licensing Request form through Engage and upload:
- Design proof(s)
- Vendor information
- Product details
- Organization contact information
Step 3: University Review
Student Affairs reviews your submission and routes it through the appropriate approval process.
Step 4: Licensing Approval
OU Trademark Licensing conducts the final review and may request revisions before approval.
Step 5: Production
Once approved, your organization may proceed with ordering or production.
