The Health Sciences Student Counseling Services [SCS] consists of
a team of licensed professional counselors overseen by a licensed psychologist.
As part of the vision for excellence shared by the OU Health Sciences campus,
we also operate as a training site for up-and-coming professionals in the
fields of psychology and counseling.
The training program at SCS includes two levels of professional
development. First, we have postdoctoral psychology fellows and licensed
professional counselor candidates. These are individuals who have completed
either a doctoral-level education or masters-level education, as well as
internship, and are completing their final year or two of supervision prior to
licensure. Second, we host a practicum training site for masters- and
doctoral-level students in counseling programs across the OKC metro area. These
burgeoning professionals begin their training in August every year and complete
it in May.
Together, this means new faces join our team on a regular basis,
alongside several familiar ones who serve year round. Please feel free to click
