Dr. Alfredo Quiñones-Hinojosa, MD, FAANS, FACS—internationally known neurosurgeon, scientist, and educator—will visit campus as the inaugural speaker in the Dean’s Distinguished Speaker Series. Currently the William J. and Charles H. Mayo Professor of Neurosurgery at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida, Dr. Quiñones-Hinojosa is a national leader in brain tumor surgery and translational research focused on curing brain cancer. Widely known as “Dr. Q,” he is also the founder of the Mission: BRAIN nonprofit and whose remarkable journey from migrant farm worker to world-renowned neurosurgeon has inspired students around the globe.
