What is Big Event?
Big Event is a campus wide event where students from all seven health professional colleges will volunteer in the greater Oklahoma City area at various job sites. The goal of HSC Big Event is to maximize applied learning in service to the HSC community.
This year, Big Event will take place on April 17th. Volunteers will go out into the community and help out with different projects. This is a great way to relax, hang out with friends, make new friends, and get involved in our community! If that’s not incentive enough, there will also be free t-shirts and a complimentary breakfast!
What do you be doing?
Volunteers will go out into the community on the day of Big Event (April 17th). You can choose your job site, or we can match you with one.
The job sites and volunteer activities at each site are listed below:
- Feed the Kids- packaging food
- Anna's House- activities to be determined
- OKC beautiful- trash cleanup
- Kids Korral- gardening
- Manos Juntas- cleaning and gardening
- Will Rogers Horticulture Garden- gardening/earth day prep
Our day will begin with kickoff at 8:00 am in the student union, where breakfast and t-shirts will be provided. Volunteering will begin at 9:30 am and end at noon.
