Get connected on the Health Campus! The Multicultural Student Organizations (MSOs) bring together students from all seven colleges to build community, share experiences, and create meaningful programming throughout the year. Whether you're looking to make friends, grow as a leader, or get involved in campus life, there’s a place for you. Check out our nine MSOs below.


MSO Goals

  • Build connections and leadership among students across all colleges.
  • Celebrate and support the many backgrounds and cultures represented within the Health Campus community.
  • Promote cultural awareness and collaboration through meaningful programming.

MSO Positions

Prepare meeting agendas and preside over MSO meetings, leading planning and progress for events/meetings. Represent MSO at university-wide meetings, events, or MSO events. Register MSO as a student organization. Act as the main representative of MSO to other community groups, including: OUHSC Student Government Association Multicultural Organizations Registered Student Organizations Communicate with the Executive Council on major initiatives and organizational changes. Attend the Student Government Association’s Executive Council meetings monthly. Collaborate with the Multicultural Student Organization Advisor and presidents to plan and execute the annual MSO Leader Retreat in September. Recruit a potential successor at the end of the leadership term and new members to the organization.

Represents the MSO at events and meetings in place of the President when requested. Chairs MSO meetings in the absence of the President. Assume all duties of the President in their absence or at the President’s request. Responsible for preliminary scheduling activities on university-wide calendars and procurement of proper facilities. Coordinate all MSO publicity through university-wide channels.

Receive all funds of the organization, including: Member Dues (if applicable) Funds allotted by the Student Government Association Sponsorships Maintain financial records of MSO Prepares budget for MSO meetings and SGA budget meetings. Attend all budget meetings and submit funding requests in accordance with OUHSC SGA deadlines.

Record meeting minutes for all MSO meetings. Send out notices and create agendas for upcoming meetings. Maintain member and organizational records. Maintain MSO correspondence with the organization's members.

Asian American Professional Student Association (AAPSA)

AAPSA is a campus-wide organization that celebrates and promotes awareness of Asian cultures on the University of Oklahoma Health Campus. We are open to all students who wish to unite, discuss, and serve the needs of the Asian American community on campus.

Oversees AAPSA’s social media presence by creating and sharing engaging content that highlights events, initiatives, and member achievements.

Plans and coordinates events that connect AAPSA members with community outreach opportunities.

Black Student Association (BSA)

The Black Student Association strives to celebrate African-American culture through campus-wide programming and events. We are open to all students interested in discussing and serving the needs of the African American community.

Hispanic American Student Association (HASA)

The Hispanic American Student Association promotes the involvement and cultural awareness of the Hispanic American community at the University of Oklahoma Health Campus. Students interested in celebrating the culture, promoting education, and facilitating a sense of community are welcome to join HASA.

HASA Positions

Leads efforts to connect BSA with the wider campus and local community by coordinating outreach initiatives and engagement opportunities. Connect HASA to the broader community by organizing outreach and service events that support the organization’s mission.

Promotes HASA’s events and initiatives by creating clear, engaging publicity materials and coordinating communication across campus platforms.

International Student Organization (ISO)

The International Student Association provides social events, cultural programs, and support to International students. ISO welcomes students interested in promoting cultural exchange at the University of Oklahoma Health Campus.

LUMINA: Queer Student Alliance

LUMINA is dedicated to supporting the LGBTQ community at the University of Oklahoma Health Campus. LUMINA welcomes students interested in providing educational, social, and volunteer opportunities related to LGBTQ+ health.
